UX Consultant

London, England, United Kingdom expand job description ↓

At Nomensa, we design digital experiences that directly touch millions of people, either through their desktop or mobile devices, and we strategically advise our clients on how to provide a greater experience for their customers. With offices in Bristol, London and Amsterdam, 100 staff, and a 17 year heritage, we have one of the largest, and most talented teams of specialised teams of user experience professionals in Europe.

Our London office represents a huge opportunity for us to grow as a business, and as a UX Consultant here you’ll be joining a small but talented team, that is part of a much wider ecosystem of highly skilled, supportive practitioners.

What you’ll be doing

Working from our new offices in Marylebone, you’ll be working on a range of briefs in different industry sectors. This could be, government, broadband, healthcare, energy, telecoms or charity, for example. This would suit you if you’re ambitious and keen to reap the rewards of a company that can give you structured career progression and exposure to greater responsibility.

You’ll work on interesting projects for our varied client base. A typical day could involve: Interviewing a client’s customers to understand their digital behaviours; testing a website with people with disabilities to help make it accessible for all; sifting through research findings to create a set of personas, or working with our design team to sketch interface ideas for a new responsive site.

You’ll more often than not be working as part of a team to tackle business problems, i.e. with a UX Designer, or other UX Consultants on a larger programme of work. We run regular workshops and knowledge shares to build your technical and soft skills, and will assign an experienced mentor to you to provide advice and guidance on areas you feel you could improve in.

What we need from you

We’re looking for a practitioner with commercial user experience consulting experience (either agency or client side). Commitment and passion for furthering your expertise, and good collaboration with other designers and consultants is really important as it’s part of the culture here.

Further education in HCI, interaction design, user experience, service design, psychology, human factors, or experience design would serve you well, and demonstrable experience of comfortably managing your own user testing, IA or product/service design projects will be valuable and assist with you hitting the ground running. For example, this might be your second or third job in UX, and you’re someone who is keen to step up fast, gain more responsibility, and own your projects. Experience of working on government projects to GDS standards would also be useful.

Why you’ll love us

Nomensa are an Econsultancy top 100 agency and recently ranked in the top 20 in the Drum Digital Census. We pride ourselves on providing a collaborative, supportive, fun and welcoming culture to work in. We employ experts in UX, IA, strategy, design & build and accessibility who are on hand to share their wealth of experience and knowledge. If you’re committed, then we have no doubt that this is one of the most outstanding environments you can hone your UX craft in.

The social side of life, and work life balance, is important to us. We socialise a lot, and the Chief Happiness Officers are always on hand to try and keep this a great culture to work in, by adding nice surprises in your day.

Pay and benefits

In addition to a competitive salary we will provide you with a generous annual holiday allowance (which increases with length of service). We also have our own dedicated company benefits portal that hosts a wealth of benefits, including cycle to work scheme, Bupa healthcare cashback scheme, additional leave for charitable/good causes and many more.

Overall, the role of a UX Consultant at Nomensa will offer you acres of room to progress your career and gain new responsibility and exposure to different briefs.
